Welcome
to Black Craig a 'station'
on a proposed but unbuilt
section of the Ayrshire and Galloway Railway. The area is lightly
populated with no village or hamlet so the 'station' is named after a prominent
mountain. The area is currently served by two buses each way daily implying rail
provision would have been basic - a halt for miners & the few farming families
and a siding to the mine.
