St Fromond is an imaginary halt in Switzerland on the line from Pfetterhouse (France) to Bonfol (Switzerland). The layout is named after the Chapelle de St. Fromond to the north of Bonfol. The halt is built to secondaires (French Light Railway) standards. Nearby there were three industries served by private sidings. Two are modelled: -

Private Siding 1 |
<1961 |
Served a clay pit and I assume a brickworks (coal & sand in, bricks etc
out). |
|
|
1961-76 |
114,000 tonnes of chemical waste arrived by rail and was dumped in the
pit. |
||
|
1981-98 |
The pit leaked chemical waste despite installation of a drainage system
and runoff treatment plant. |
||
|
2007-16 |
202,200 tonnes of chemical waste and contaminated soil was removed by
rail and burnt in Germany. |

metal construction company I suspect closed |
The layout has been photographed with steam stock.

The prototype (above) and the best I can do given space constraints (below)

St. Fromond was converted from Gayton [BR(LM),
ex-SMJ] and these photos show the steps involved.
