WILLOW FALLS



The Willow Falls Railroad loosely based on two railroads in Western Pennsylvania the Greenlick Narrow Gauge and the Susquehanna & Eagle Mere. It runs thirteen mile from the Mica Quarries at the "City" of Willow Falls through woods to the mica processing plant, saw mill and junction with the Pennsylvania Railroad at Hilly Fields. The line has kept going into the 1950’s, as there is no need to tranship its staple traffic of mica and lumber at junction.  Passenger and other freight traffic on the line is light mainly materials to the brewery and in season milk from the dairy The line is operated by one loco shuttling between the Willow Falls and Hilly Fields. G gauge (garden gauge) was developed by LGB and varies between 1-20.3 and 1-29 or roughly half an inch to the foot.
